You can 'contact us' by clicking here to e-mail Myself (Gemma) and my husband Nic, live in Thatcham, Berkshire in a semi with a big garden, in fact it was the garden that really sold this property to us! We have four BCs now ranging in age from 8 years old down to fourteen months. We were granted our Affix of 'Smoketrail' in November 2007. Smoketrail is a mixture of the names of our foundation dog and bitch. Hoax is my gorgeous lady and the blue merle I had looked so long for. Her KC name is Rajjinka Smokescreen. Boo my amazing lad and my 'once in a lifetime dog' was registered as 'Forest Trail'. Hence Smoketrail. I also wanted to stick with a smokey theme due to Hoax' smokey colour. Finally our wonderful friends picked from a list and Smoketrail was the clear favorite.
All our dogs are fed on raw food (BARF). They have done exceptionally well on it. We usually use the Natures Menu complete raw. sometimes tripe version, sometimes lamb version, its the 1kg freeflow mince. They also get Chicken wings, turkey necks, lamb bones (not v often as soooo messy), green tripe, Eggs, Veggie mix, Sardines (their fave) etc etc. They also have NM wholemeal mixer for brekkie and to bulk meals up. Lastly we give them all a vitamin supplement and also add Hokamix powder to their meals. Boo had awful colitis as a pup, he was allergic to rice and grain, these would set off his colitis. I tried everything from Genesis to Naturediet to CSJ. He couldn't have any of it bar Hills PRESCIPTION diet!!! I changed him to BARF at about six months old and since that time he can now eat anything, no allergies no nothing, perfect!!! Hoax was raised from six weeks on raw food and has done brilliantly on it. She has grown at a steady, smooth rate and looks amazing. Thanks Heather for telling us all about BARF and helping us along the way! We also get our dogs reguarly treated by an approved McTimoney Chiropractor. We use 'Melanie Hamilton' of the Natural Health Centre. She is wonderful with all ours and keeps them in great condition for working.
