Nic has decided to withdraw Linx from stud and has had him castrated. The reason is, that we have found out too many health problems in his line. Although Linx has good hips, quite a few Withersfarms have been diagnosed with HD (hip dysplasia). The most recent being his half sister Withersfarm GT (although G is ok at the mo so should be able to work for awhile yet. Also we now know about some muscular problems and also heart defects in the Withersfarm breeding and just can't risk using him. It's been a really sad decision to make as Nic so desperately wanted a pup from him. 2008 UPDATE! We have now discovered Linx has mild HD. He will continue his agility career for now as our vet suggested and will monitor his progress.

Linx is a Slate/
Blue & White BC dog who is dual registered with the KC and the ISDS. He has a very
high drive and is definitely not a dog for the faint hearted! He is compact and extremely
powerful. Nic started his agility training at 12 months but ended up having a 'break' for about four months due to Nic having an injury. Unfortunately this put him back for the 2005 show season. Although VERY keen Linx didn't have the time to get some of the control and was a bit of a loose cannon his first year. he did everything fast and is having to learn that he needs to listen aswell. He is showing signs of a highly promising agility dog. He turns like nothing we've had before and is very quick and keen to please. We are really looking forward to the 2006 season with him! He admittedly isn't the easiest dog to live with. He is constantly on the go and although he is amazingly loving he also always want to play, hug, kiss, play etc. etc! His pedigree is pure working lines with some well known lines including the Bwlch lines and Wiston Cap. View his pedigree here Linx has had his first win now! 1st place in UKA Novice Agility winning by over three seconds!!! He continues to be a challenge as he jumps so close to the poles that he knocks more than he should. He keeps getting lots of the fastest 5f runs. Linx really is a happy dog, he loves life and Nic with great passion and would play and work until he dropped. |
